Paul Miller Design worked with the Long Range Planning Committee and golf club staff to evaluate the existing golf course. A hole-by-hole review was prepared to insure that the strengths and the critical concerns were identified on every hole.
Based on the analysis of the existing golf course alternative master plans were proposed for evaluation by the Committee. The selected master plan maintains the strengths of the original design while improving the overall playing character of the golf course. The proposed design improvements will lengthen the golf course and feature: reshaped and relocated bunkers, new hole realignments on 2, 4, and 18, three new greens, renovated tees, reshaped ponds and driving range improvements.
A Phase 1 Implementation Plan has been developed. Significant re-grading on holes no. 1 and No. 9 along with improvements to the practice range will create an improved playing experience by opening the round with a more defined par 5, enhancing the already dramatic no. 9 hole and improving the practice opportunities and safety at the practice range. The first phase project will greatly enhance the curb appeal / first impression of the golf course from the clubhouse. Future phases will provide improvements to the rest of the golf course that are complimentary to the phase 1 improvements.
