Village Links has long been a highly regarded municipal golf course in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. David Gill designed the original layout in 1967. The design team of Gill Miller was selected to carry on the successful golf tradition at Village Links.

The goal of the Village of Glen Ellyn was to update the golf course to make it a must play in the Chicago public golf market. The new layout also had to serve its critical function of providing significant flood protection for the Village of Glen Ellyn.
